Whilst some of the big online ecommerce suppliers, such as Shopify and Big Commerce, offered a lot of the required functionality out of the box, they only did so on extremely expensive monthly plans - Shopify's wholesaler plan that offered most of these requirements was over £1500 a month, way above what a small, start-up business with a limited product range and budget could afford!!
We investigated several ecommerce options in-depth, including Shopify, Big Commerce, Square Space, Woo Commerce, Webflow and a completely bespoke custom-built solution, but invariably they lacked some of the necessary functionality, or the costs were way beyond the client's budget.
However, our expert design and development team managed to come up with an innovative working solution for the client utilising a basic business plan with Shopify, 4 low-cost Shopify apps, and by making extensive code modifications to the Shopify theme and templates.
Instead of a monthly fee in excess of £1500, the solution we put in place for Sun & Cee has given them a dual retail and wholesale store that connects and integrates to their wholesale distributors' websites, with a recurring monthly fee of just £75.
